Have you ever seen a jellyfish in its natural habitat? Ever been stung by one? (I hear it’s quite painful.)
Many moons ago, when I was just a teensy little daydreamer, there came the realization that I was very much drawn to the water. The ocean has always been a place where I find a deep calm and a strange sense of belonging. Maybe it’s the fact that my zodiac is a water sign. Perhaps, it has something to do with a past life. Whatever the case may be, I’m still fascinated by all of its mystery to this day.
This artwork was inspired by a day at the beach where I scooped up a jellyfish in my hands just to get a closer look at the details. I was careful to keep the intruiging little friend still submerged in the water. Surprisingly, I was not stung. Seconds later though, my cousin, however, was—right in the butt.
What kinds of creatures have you met at the beach?
Have a relaxing Sunday, loves! Some exciting things coming up!
My son along with my niece were the inspiration behind starting up a bunch of these underwater designs. Preparing for summer here I’ve been doing a lot of shifting and planning, so I’m also going to be expanding some of my home decor and greetings designs for the upcoming season.
Even though a lot has changed behind the scenes the past few months, we look forward to new ventures as we move around these unforeseen road blocks. I have a strange feeling this summer might just be a good one. However it turns out, thank you for being patient with us and enjoying and sharing these designs every week with your friends. It makes a world of difference in our little spot of the sea.
The ocean has long been a companion of mine throughout life. With the weather changing and my son getting older, he is starting to show interest in some of these same aquatic activities. I’ve been shuffling around more home decor and greetings designs, some of which have to do with children’s rooms and seasonal decorative pieces. This all had me thinking of underwater themes I’ve done in the past. These sea turtles started from sketches, but I plan to have a few more of them appear in some of my newer designs these next few months.
