Alright friends & friendly strangers, we’ve got some great news!! We were able to save our business & website just in time! You know what that means, don’t you?? #SleepySundays resumes this Sunday & I’m taking requests for my services starting right now! Back to work!
There is a very soft spot in my heart for this next installment to our 31 Nightmares.
Over the Garden Wallis a family-friendly fascet of the horror genre, with drips of mystery & dark fantasy sprinkled in. Ever since its premiere, the miniseries has been a treasured fall season tradition in our home.
I was lucky enough a few years ago to get a physical copy on DVD to what I consider to be a storytelling masterpiece.
The visuals and sort of retro feel to the entire thing stir up some sort of nostalgic emotions in me. I’m not sure why, but every time we get ready to sit down and watch it this time of year and that gorgeous piano theme starts up, my eyes start to well up a bit. Maybe it’s the fact that it reminds me of pieces of my own childhood. Maybe it’s the adorable characters. Maybe, just maybe, it’s the fact that my son loves it as much as I do.
Whatever the case is, it is definitely worth seeking out.
Oh yes, and my son wants you all to know this is our favorite song from the series:
It has been six whole years today since CardCastles first opened its virtual doors.
We started off from humble beginnings. This place has come a very long way after completing an equally extensive journey. We have shared so many memories with you as a family through my artwork and journals, and that spawned off into even more beautiful things. We have enjoyed this trek amongst the stars in the sky with you, so much so it gave birth to new worlds and a parent company. Snapping Turtle was born out of love. New ventures it seeks as it now takes over the clouds and we transition through the full merge.
So much more planned for the rest of this year. & For however long we keep this going.
This weekend there were still details spilling over from the end of March and some loose ends to tie up. Forgive my brief schedule change for #SleepySundays which I assure is only temporary.
The wall design pictured above is inspired by nature and some activities my son got to partake in; a tradition that felt a lot like times passed for me. Some of it even has to do with the origin of the Snapping Turtle name.
Have you passed any traditions down in your family?
