Sundays lately have been a rest time for my family, but I still feel a draw to my work. So I’ve been working on some background sets in my spare time. This is one of those sets from a surreal series. I like the color palette for this one & may use it for another.
Textures and patterns are something I often design in my spare time as a sort of sister to accompany the other artwork. These are in just as high demand as scenery and the other types of designs I specialize in.
It’s been another rough & trying week. My schedule has been turned upside down. We don’t get to slow down, though. Our son is entering the 4th grade this year, after all. We have to prepare. What lies ahead we’re unsure of. If you follow us on any of our social media accounts though, you know we’ve decided to go ahead again this year with #31Nightmares anyway. More on that very soon.
This Sunday as we crept back into our old timeslot,
I decided it best to share two designs with you this weekend instead of just one.
There’s good reason behind it, as I am working on a summer collection.
Hope you are all having a relaxing weekend. From our hearts to yours.
It’s not often we do these compilation-type postings, but this week we have to make an exception.
Your charming lady host (Daydreams) is a teensy bit under-the-weather.
Daydreams wanted to talk about the Summer Solstice that just happened this Friday, and how we often celebrate the changing of seasons here at CardCastles. (The Fall Equinox, The Winter Solstice, The Spring Equinox, and The Summer Solstice.) Nature had other plans this weekend.
These are some of the most popular artworks from or inspired by summers passed:
Two more additions for The Holiday Collection this week. I’m not a fan of using fonts in my work, unless I design said fonts myself. These greeting card designs are exceptions. I’m much busier closing out some book cover projects, along with planning a move from my current location. There was a need to push these out fast. The fonts helped save me some much-needed extra time. Hope you enjoy them! Just trying to spread some cheer in these dismal times we are living in.
