Sleepy Sundays: Equinox

After a steamy, oppressively humid night here on this side of the globe, it got me thinking about how close fall is. There will be many adventures to get into in October. I’m meeting some long-time gaming friends at NYCC this year and I have to admit, I’m excited. This will be my first time attending NY Comic Con. So, I sure hope the weather makes a comfortable shift into fall.

When I wish for this season like this, my paintbrush, pencil, or hand seems to become enchanted with some child-like wonder I used to experience long ago. This piece even reminds me of some of my much, much older work. It’s nice to take a trip down memory lane once in a while and visit your long-buried roots. Much like fall, sometimes a piece of us can tend to slumber with age and life happenings. Though like the seasons change, it will be awakened again. You just have to give it a little light and love.

Have you ever started something back up you haven’t practiced in ages?

Have a seasonal Sunday!

Sleepy Sundays: Transparency

This is another one of my art-photography hybrids. I have to admit, it was more complex to make than it looks. It was inspired by the beginning of spring and all that begins to grow.

As some of you may notice, if you look close enough, some of the flowers are transparent. I wanted to give the effect of an X-Ray. (Probably inspired by my recent trip to the dentist. Don’t ask.) I’ve said it before. Inspiration can come from the strangest of places.

The music I chose to go with this art is something very different from what you may’ve heard here before. You’ve all expressed trust in my strange musical tastes, though – so I think some of you just may love this.

When was the last time you felt completely transparent?

Have a see-through Sunday!
