Some of the gardens I’ve had the pleasure of visiting throughout my lifetime were scattered with fruit. This design and tile were inspired by one of my favorites.
Have a beautiful Sunday!
This Sunday as we crept back into our old timeslot,
I decided it best to share two designs with you this weekend instead of just one.
There’s good reason behind it, as I am working on a summer collection.
Hope you are all having a relaxing weekend. From our hearts to yours.
Have a bright and beautiful Sunday!
If I gave you a peek into my folder right now, you’d see lots of designs like this one. I’ve been working a lot on greeting card designs again lately. This one is the first concept in a set of florals.
It’s inspired by the rainy season in my zone lately and some strange dreams.
What’s your inspiration lately? Any plans when the seasons change?
Have a relaxing Sunday!
This weekend while I made a new folder for a project that’s closing and another for upcoming holiday greetings and other things. We had a little November night wind storm. Shortly after it began to rain. With the quiet in the house and the pitter-patter outside, it was the perfect conditions to work in, and some of it inspired this new addition.
Are you in planning mode yet for the new year? Do tell. You know I love a good coffee chat. 🙂
Patterns like this one are always a blast for me to design because I’ll collage several different designs into one. This one is made up of two different patterns of fall foliage, one that I shrunk down into tiny little golden pearl-textured dots. I’ve been working on designs like these through October, and they will likely continue through November if time allows.
This weekend’s was inspired by the winds that hit here about Friday that are signs of an upcoming storm in our area.
What colors have you seen floating through the sky lately? Do you like multi-layered designs for a living room? How’s the weather in your neck of the woods?
Have a breezy Sunday!
Over the weekend I got to speak with some close friends and plan future events. This wall art/greetings hybrid was a request. If you’ve been reading my writing lately, or follow CardCastles on social media, you probably know some of its inspirations.
April has flown by so fast not everything we had planned squeezed all into it. Despite that, so much is going on behind the scenes, if I could just stay alive & sane as long as it’s all unfolding I’m going to be bringing you so many strange and wonderful new things this year.
As always, thank you for taking this magical balloon ride with me. Whatever it is. We’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?
Have you got any art projects planned? What have you been up to?
Have a brightly shining Sunday!
With October, my #31Nightmares, and so many things coming to a close, I cannot help but be reminded of the famous night winds I knew growing up that ran throughout October. I’ve made countless designs inspired by them over the years. The latest is a custom notebook.
What do you plan for when the month changes?
Have a breezy Sunday!
A few nights back I had a strange dream. As I laid out the groundwork for this artwork pictured above in my head, I slowly drifted off to sleep. My mind traveled back to a place I hadn’t been in a very long time. Rows upon rows of white wildflowers all dancing simultaneously in the night breeze.
This was an actual early evening once in my life that took place many moons ago when my father was still alive. I faintly remember the sound of the radio softly playing some soothing little tune. She’d been in the doctor’s office building just beneath the hill we stared at, so we waited patiently in the car. My mom always did have a habit of taking forever. She was a friendly chatterbox and had to greet just about everyone.
After waiting for well over an hour, we stepped out to stretch our legs and yawn. I remember the sweet smell of the wild flowers in the air.
The warm, nightly, summer breeze that had been happening that year seemed to kick it all around. My father and I ran through the flowers for a good twenty minutes until my mother appeared.
That small moment in time was one of the happiest moments I had with my father.
That day still replays in my dreams at times and it inspired this artwork.
to all of the fathers out there, to those who have lost fathers, to those who are new fathers, and those who are fathers of fathers. You are all so special to us.
Have a warm, loving Sunday!
While I created this, I listened to this:
