The northeast region got blasted this weekend with some icy winds making it seem like the dead of winter when it’s really still fall. We’ve got a bunch of important milestones coming up for our son in his schooling. There are some changes going on in just about every aspect of my life. They are achy changes, but changes I am willing to accept. Some of this overdose of new I’m even starting to like.
This character concept that almost didn’t happen due to a busy schedule and some technical issues, was inspired by a busted mouse. No not an actual little furry guy, don’t worry. Nope, it was a busted mouse that I very much need in order to create any illustration at all. We had to replace it in order for me to be able to keep working, even in the midst of other family obligations.
I’m going to let my son name him. I think this little mouse would be cute for holiday greetings as well. He may make more appearances.
Has anything broken on you lately? Did you make the best of it?
Above is the message sent out to my Instagram followers this morning. Right now, my Instagram account is just a close group mixture of friends, family, and clients. So, of course, they get to know everything first. If you’d like exclusive updates like this one, just pop on over to the CardCastles Instagram and hit the follow button.
As for things here, just like the above message states, #SleepySundays will resume in two weeks time to its normal scheduling. In the meantime, you may see a bunch of pieces moving and shifting about in the clouds. I assure you, this is all part of something much larger than CardCastles itself and when the full shift is made by the end of 2017, you will start to see the changes.
Everything will begin to operate from one central hub — here. My services have become a sort of small business in about a year’s time, and this place is going to start to reflect that. Thank you for being so patient with me with these ever-changing cards I’m dealt.
It’s been a fantastic journey. I look forward to the months ahead. Brace yourselves. There is so much more to show you this 2017.
As some reading may know, I also contribute over at Stories That Must Not Die. Starting yesterday, I will be taking your submissions from now until June 15th. If you are interested in submitting a story here are the details:
Our subject matter is not limited right now. It simply has to be about a difficult/strange experience you’ve had in your life. (Usually it’s something that doesn’t quite fit in on another blog.)
If you wish to submit your story anonymously, that can be arranged.
The slots I have to fill are listed on the calendar chart below.
So, just to be clear, I have open slots for:
Thursday the 5th Tuesday the 10th Thursday the 12th
