Sleepy Sundays: Along the Pumpkin Patch

There are usually a lot of requests in the CardCastles inbox this time of year for greeting card prints. This little in flux usually lasts until around January and then things begin to slow down. I always enjoy making them, especially around the holidays. Halloween is one of my favorite seasons to design for in the fall. Some of my favorites usually go to teachers and mothers for the classroom or children’s parties. I just added custom invitations to the list for that reason.

What are your favorite seasons or holidays?

Have a warm Sunday!

It’s October 1st! We made it here in one piece! That usually signals exactly what this custom design is evoking today—fall-themed greetings. I’ve been having a lot of fun playing around with some custom brushes I made for one of my programs at home and this design was the result of that. There’s also been some new apps that found a home in my design arsenal that help me play around with watercolor effects and lighting and some neat 3D texture effects.

I will be designing fall greeting card templates like these all October long for incoming clients and to give out to friends and family.

What are your plans this October? Do tell. You know I love a good coffee chat.

Have a breezy Sunday!

31 Nightmares: The 11th

One of the first “scary stories” I heard as a kid was The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Shortly after this story was told to me, I would often have nightmares featuring creatures with pumpkins for heads. This artwork was inspired by those childhood night terrors.

I used one of our old family photos previously featured here and tinkered away from there.

This has been Day 11 of
