I know it’s not over yet. In fact, with the new year rolling in, it’s only just beginning.
I’m aware all of this may sound oh-so-very cliché. I’m not blind to the notion that some people out there are sick to death of hearing me preach the power of positive thought. (Those people can stuff it, by the way.) In spite of all that, I want you to keep going with me, through whatever trials you may be facing as well. We can’t give up and we can’t give in. BELIEVE in yourself. It’s a point I have to make. It’s important.
We’re all just getting started. 😉
Have a beautiful Sunday, my loves.
& Have a very happy New Year!
Fun facts: This artwork was inspired by elements of science fiction and recent talks buzzing around about alien life. It’s been a little while since something in the “surreal” genre was posted here at CardCastles. This Sunday changes that.
This next little design was inspired by the thought that life can come in so many infinite forms. I’ll be using it for an upcoming project.
I’m not buying into the hidden agendas of those who say we have become a nation divided. Somehow, in some cases, that warped thinking has them believing things are better that way. I’ve heard it both whispered and shouted.
Yet my groups of friends are as diverse as NY and NJ when my family first came to this country not but two generations ago. I consider my friends my extended family and I always have. We sit together, all from different backgrounds and cultures and yet we love each other, and share so much in common.
I guess what I’m trying to relay is, going into this new year, we must remember the past but we must also move forward if we want anything to change.
Otherwise, if we don’t ALL work towards loving one another then evil starts to grow.
It takes over.
Like a virus in the air spreading and spreading amidst the wind and latching on to your insides.
I know our world and humanity itself is better than that. I know there is true noble beings and real good amongst us. Some of you reading this right now are fighting for good and I am in awe of everything ahead of us. There is a brand new time on the horizon. We have a great opportunity here with this new year. Let’s put all this negativity behind us and start anew, keep an open mind, and spread love through all that we do.
This week’s Sleepy Sundays post was inspired by the neon lights and bright colors of the 1980’s. I’ve been doing research on 80’s dance clubs for an art/film project and it’s been spilling over into my designs. Truth be told, I always wanted a neon sign in my apartment like Selena Kyle.
It’s been a while since the card castles have stacked on anything other than a Sunday. The frigid air outside is making everything so quiet. My son is snoring, the dishwasher has stopped, even the birds are silent. It almost feels rude to be tapping away at my keys. This is, however, my nature. I’ll probably be tapping away at keys of some form until I croak.
When a new year begins, some of us think of what we can improve; what we can do differently. I’m doing quite the contrary this year. I don’t want to drum up any false hope in myself. I vowed at the end of December that the focus this year would be on happiness. With that said, I’d simply like to thank all of you that read, are just now starting to read, and those that have been reading here. So many of you write back to me whether it’s through comments or email and I love you for it. Joy is brought to you through my art, the occasional laugh, and the various other methods of madness I chuck in your directions. Each of you make me smile.
