There are a few new sets of florals I’ve got set up that will be shown here throughout the upcoming spring season. Road blocks have certainly been built up in my way since the start of this year. Last week was no different. Massive power outages in my region restricted internet access for a short while. Some electricity came back on, but then our connections became unstable. The result was a short closing of the site & its services.
Maybe it was the florals I’m working on, or the power outages that got me thinking about all things nature. Though I’d like to think it is the strong women that remain ever-so-present in my life through trial & triumph—sickness and superpowers.
This one is for all of the goddesses in my life that keep manifesting otherwordly beauty despite whatever negativity tries to blanket you and smother your blinding light.
We’re slowly packing our things again for yet another move. The future is somewhat uncertain but we’ve been planning out how the next few months should go. We’re all so ready to leave this place, including my son. While I sorted out upcoming errands and filed away my folders for the night, I added this piece to the collection of prints coming up for sale as wall art and greeting cards. It actually started out as my son’s idea and it is brilliant. This one is another trip into the fantasy genre.
Why not escape far away for a while before we head someplace new and have to do all of that un-fun grown-up stuff. 🙂
Horror art has a way of creeping into my designs as early as September. I usually do this in preparation for any custom greeting cards I’d like to send out. (Usually if I decide to make them printable.) This is one of those that was inspired by a series of nightmares I had one night after watching a Twilight Zone marathon, and lack of sleep.
The light in the dream had a strong magnetic effect and seemed to pull you (willingly or unwillingly) toward it. It was a cold, damp, large area of nothingness and terror. This is not a place I wish to return to.
