Sleepy Sundays: Bloodletting

Bloodletting ©️2019 Snapping Turtle Arts | cardcastlesinthesky.com

While most of you wait until October to see some of my horror-inspired designs, I remind you that horror is where my love for art and design began.

With a string of vivid dreams and nightmares lately, it’s no surprise I took a break from my tradition of spring floral sets to work on a horror piece.

My personal life has my career feeling like bloodletting lately. My love for art has not left me, however, the strain of having to design on a schedule has been a nightmare. Art has been a cathartic release, even if the scheduling causes me pain.

Financial stresses make operation a lot more difficult as well. As always, we will see what the cards hold.

Have a relaxing Sunday

31 Nightmares 2018: The 31st

“Your beloved Daydreams isn’t here right now. She appears to be…all tied up. I just may get cozy here. Yes, yes…I could get used to this.”

– Nightmares

“When I came to my head was throbbing. Didn’t quite know what to make of it all. I was frightened—and cold. She was no longer here. Maybe that protection spell I cast on the gates finally took. I’m sure it won’t ward her off for long, though.”

Well my horror-loving lovelies,

Another #31Nightmares has come to a close.

We were not so sure about doing this whole thing again this year. There is a whole fresh hell of a lot going on behind the scenes. These circumstances have made it difficult on this trip. I apologize for not keeping up our tradition of ending this thing with a video. Some personal matters kept that footage from ever being shot & uploaded.

Despite those somber notes, we hope you had fun through each of the 31 days and nights. Will we do this again next year? Well, you’ve managed to talk me into it each year again since we started back in 2015. We shall just have to wait and see.

Special Thanks

On behalf of Snapping Turtle Arts, I would like to thank Dean Kealy, Michael Patrick, and Bill Friday for joining us and lending their magnificent talents.

To the horror lovers here and overseas

We are so appreciative of all of you. Thank you for stopping in on each day! None of this would have gone down this year without your loving support and encouragement!

To my mentors

I saw you here lurking about. 😉 It means the world to me and my little family that some of you still care. We’ll try to put on a bigger show if we go at this thing again next year.

To our friends and family

Thank you for holding our hands when times get rough.

We love you ALL!

31 Nightmares 2018: The 28th

There’s been a tear through our world again. I’m not sure what it means this time. She left a stench on my soul. I feel her near lately now more than ever. Though we’ve binded her for now. I wonder why she’s near. I wonder if she’ll return. We’ll just have to wait and see.

31 Nightmares 2018: The 26th

We’ve had to make some changes to our slots due to cancellations and actors passing. With that said, we’ve added some fresh new content to our roster.

Featured here on CardCastles once before,

I’d like to reintroduce you to SunBunz.

I really enjoy her commentary at times. In this particular series SunBunz is playing Little Nightmares, a horror/adventure game and that’s what landed her here.

I’ve yet to play this game myself but I hear it’s right up my alley.

And, for your viewing pleasure here is Part 2:

Land of the Birds

This concept started as a photo taken recently. The addition came to my collection when I messed with the lighting & added some textures to match the mood.

The feel was inspired by a very Hitchcock-like nightmare I had recently about the birds in our area.
