After talking it over with a few of those nearest & dearest to me, I plan on using this concept as a base-work for future endeavors. The neat detail about it is, the original is a transparent mask, so I can place that little branch with our feathered friends on it just about anywhere.
What do you think we should use it for? The possibilities are endless.
Sometimes I make backgrounds for websites and actual tiles and handbags, quilts and things like that when my designs are printed out in various formats. It’s one of the ways I am able to make somewhat of a living off of my art. This tile has a transparent background so I can play with the foreground and make it into day or night variations and add things like stars, etc.
Hope you all had a relaxing weekend!
We are very busy in the clouds!
Stay updated with our Twitter or Instagram for any CardCastles-related news.
A lot has changed in the past few months. Even more is still changing. We are no longer moving our place of residence and this office. (At least not any time in the near future.) A great deal has gone on behind the scenes.
One thing remains constant. My health is still considerably poor. We are doing our best to fix this. Although, I’m not too sure what’s in the cards for me.
We decided to renew CardCastles for another year anyway. Somehow, I still have this strange optimism despite having tea with the reaper lately. There’s so much more to tell you, but we’re going to have to save that for a Daydreams Diary. For now, let’s all just try to look towards brighter days together.
The new beginning for Snapping Turtle now has its home cozy here at CardCastles. We are adding to the gallery with both old & new designs as fast as we can. With a lot going on in our personal life, some of these newer designs have been a welcome break. This concept is planned for greeting cards and children’s wall art for kid’s rooms and possibly even classrooms, we’ll see depending on who bites. 🙂
We will be relocating our operations here as far as artwork. The office will be moving and you may have noticed I am redesigning the website to match our new digs. We’re hoping you all find it cozy still once it’s all said and done.
This weekend I’ve designed a few more nature-inspired pieces to be added to the new gallery. This is the first of that set.
Is anything in your life moving on/moving out or taking “flight”?
The ocean has long been a companion of mine throughout life. With the weather changing and my son getting older, he is starting to show interest in some of these same aquatic activities. I’ve been shuffling around more home decor and greetings designs, some of which have to do with children’s rooms and seasonal decorative pieces. This all had me thinking of underwater themes I’ve done in the past. These sea turtles started from sketches, but I plan to have a few more of them appear in some of my newer designs these next few months.
We’re slowly packing our things again for yet another move. The future is somewhat uncertain but we’ve been planning out how the next few months should go. We’re all so ready to leave this place, including my son. While I sorted out upcoming errands and filed away my folders for the night, I added this piece to the collection of prints coming up for sale as wall art and greeting cards. It actually started out as my son’s idea and it is brilliant. This one is another trip into the fantasy genre.
Why not escape far away for a while before we head someplace new and have to do all of that un-fun grown-up stuff. 🙂
