I know it’s not over yet. In fact, with the new year rolling in, it’s only just beginning.
I’m aware all of this may sound oh-so-very cliché. I’m not blind to the notion that some people out there are sick to death of hearing me preach the power of positive thought. (Those people can stuff it, by the way.) In spite of all that, I want you to keep going with me, through whatever trials you may be facing as well. We can’t give up and we can’t give in. BELIEVE in yourself. It’s a point I have to make. It’s important.
We’re all just getting started. 😉
Have a beautiful Sunday, my loves.
& Have a very happy New Year!
Fun facts: This artwork was inspired by elements of science fiction and recent talks buzzing around about alien life. It’s been a little while since something in the “surreal” genre was posted here at CardCastles. This Sunday changes that.
Today we’re sharing something simple. When so much around me continues to be chaos, it’s a welcome break. It’s simple yet somehow intricate, because if you join this design with a duplicate of itself, you’ll notice it’s seamless.
That’s the idea. This pattern was created with clothing and/or objects in mind that need the pattern to wrap around. I’ve done many patterns like this in the past, but this is one of my first with a snow-themed design.
It was inspired by the little flurries that hit my area this weekend.
Fever chills. Coughing. Bones felt like thin glass.
I’ve been meaning to catch you all up on things for a while w/ a video diary or something, and yet things keep happening. Every time I sit down to work, or give you a little update here, another something pops up.
Flash forward to today. I finally start to gain some of my strength back. I’m still on the mend, but I finally have the first burst of energy I’ve had in over a week.
I come inside after getting my son, do my household duties, promptly sit down, then open up my folders for work. I’ve got an important project for Matticus & Revis that’s well over the deadline time frame. (Matt & Revis continue to be patient with me & my crazy life and I love them for it.) There’s another something I’m planning with my significant other. Last but most certainly not least, there’s some concept sketches I have to get out to three of my musician friends.
The phone starts chirping away.
I ignore it as best as I can, but in the back of my mind it must be urgent.
Two more additions for The Holiday Collection this week. I’m not a fan of using fonts in my work, unless I design said fonts myself. These greeting card designs are exceptions. I’m much busier closing out some book cover projects, along with planning a move from my current location. There was a need to push these out fast. The fonts helped save me some much-needed extra time. Hope you enjoy them! Just trying to spread some cheer in these dismal times we are living in.
