Sleepy Sundays: Bloodletting

While most of you wait until October to see some of my horror-inspired designs, I remind you that horror is where my love for art and design began.

With a string of vivid dreams and nightmares lately, it’s no surprise I took a break from my tradition of spring floral sets to work on a horror piece.

My personal life has my career feeling like bloodletting lately. My love for art has not left me, however, the strain of having to design on a schedule has been a nightmare. Art has been a cathartic release, even if the scheduling causes me pain.

Financial stresses make operation a lot more difficult as well. As always, we will see what the cards hold.

Have a relaxing Sunday

Sleepy Sundays: Scales

Scales

Burnt Lilac Sunset

Each week of our life lately has seemed like a series of tests. It’s been happening to everyone in my family.

In my designs, I’ve been working on different palette scales for backgrounds, for later projects.
Synchronicity is a strange & beautiful thing.

Have a pleasant Sunday

You ever change something so many times it makes you dizzy? Isn’t it even better when you end up right where you began?

This has been the last few months for me. A whole bunch of starting off strong just to get caught under the tires.

I feel a change coming, though. & I’ve certainly had enough. Get back to me when I’m out of this.

Where have you been? What have you been up to? Where has everyone gone? Am I really that vile?

Talk to me. After all, this is our Sunday ritual.

The seasons are changing rapidly around here but somehow this weekend winter managed to hang on. Despite the cold temps these surreal scenes of the entrance of spring managed to creep into my dreams and designs. Spring is very close around here, and you can tell by the trees. You are starting to see little bits of green pop up here and there. Soon even the cold will not be able to stop it. Everything will come into bloom. I’ve always liked the change of seasons around here for that reason, and the beginning of March around here usually signals spring. —Usually.

Have an enchanted Sunday

After talking it over with a few of those nearest & dearest to me, I plan on using this concept as a base-work for future endeavors. The neat detail about it is, the original is a transparent mask, so I can place that little branch with our feathered friends on it just about anywhere.

What do you think we should use it for? The possibilities are endless.

Have a peaceful Sunday!
