Sleepy Sundays: Hazy Memories

Hazy Memories ©️2019 Snapping Turtle Arts | cardcastlesinthesky.com

Some summers remind me of summer’s past & the little memories tucked within them.

Out where I live, if you’re closeby some water or a storm is on its way, sometimes you see this hazy mist in the sky–almost like a fog, but much thinner.

This is the first landscape design I’ve done in a while based off of just that. This one is going to be exclusively wall art & not used for other projects.

We’ve spent a good portion of this year cleaning up from the last. Now it’s time to finally have some fun. Much more to come in the coming weeks, folks. Strap in & get ready. 😁

& Most importantly, have a relaxing rest of your Sunday.

Sleepy Sundays: Recap

Hello, my darlings,

–This Sunday we’re going to do something a little different.

As much as I would’ve liked to share some new artwork with you this weekend, my ongoing health issues have been acting up the last few days & it’s left me with a series of nasty migraines that have been hindering my ability to concentrate.

I don’t want any of you to worry. I’m getting the best possible care I can get and have been showing some signs of improvement lately.

So with all that said & out of the way,

I’d simply like to recap/re-share my last 2 posts on here within our little Sleepy Sundays timeframe.

Have a pleasant Sunday night

7 Years

It’s been 7 years since we put the first card in the sky.

So much has changed.

We almost had to close between this year and last. Somehow, running on miracles, we were able to save this place. &While things are still somewhat uncertain, I am grateful for this opportunity to continue what we are trying to build on.

Thanks for flying with us.

Summer Touchdown

I’ve been working on some new collections lately. One of these series pieces is designed specifically for wall art, but I’m sure can still be used as a template for other designs.

This artwork is one of the newest in that series. Proud to give it a space here at CardCastles. Let me know if you deem it worthy.

Sleepy Sundays: Way Up There

Way Up There ©️ 2019 Snapping Turtle Arts | cardcastlesinthesky.com

You ever change something so many times it makes you dizzy? Isn’t it even better when you end up right where you began?

This has been the last few months for me. A whole bunch of starting off strong just to get caught under the tires.

I feel a change coming, though. & I’ve certainly had enough. Get back to me when I’m out of this.

Where have you been? What have you been up to? Where has everyone gone? Am I really that vile?

Talk to me. After all, this is our Sunday ritual.

After talking it over with a few of those nearest & dearest to me, I plan on using this concept as a base-work for future endeavors. The neat detail about it is, the original is a transparent mask, so I can place that little branch with our feathered friends on it just about anywhere.

What do you think we should use it for? The possibilities are endless.

Have a peaceful Sunday!

31 Nightmares 2018: The 22nd

One of the lovely humans I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know these past few years of working in this industry is the beautiful and kind Chantal Laura Handley.

Chantal specializes in pastel art and horror icons. She sells her gorgeous artwork everywhere from Comic Con to RedBubble, and including her own website.

Here are some of my favorite pieces she’s created:

Chantal also has a countdown to Halloween of her own going on right now! Go check her out!

They are also in the network of some of the lovely people mentioned earlier.

I first found out about Slasher Radio through my own network. We later subscribed to their podcast on iTunes and haven’t regretted it since.

OddNMacabre – Sean Kaen

Sean is really a wonderful human being and very down to earth. He shares all sorts of fun horror bits and fun facts on his Twitter page. He really is a pleasure to follow since most of his content has this sort of group interactive feel to it that makes you feel a part of the fun. He is a multi-talent and pushes horror content all year ’round.

There are SO many more, but these are all we have time to squeeze in today. These lovely, talented individuals made the cut because they all stand out in their own ways.
