Two more additions for The Holiday Collection this week. I’m not a fan of using fonts in my work, unless I design said fonts myself. These greeting card designs are exceptions. I’m much busier closing out some book cover projects, along with planning a move from my current location. There was a need to push these out fast. The fonts helped save me some much-needed extra time. Hope you enjoy them! Just trying to spread some cheer in these dismal times we are living in.
This weekend I started to wrap up projects I’ve been working on for months now. Next week begins the countdown for our community’s favorite event, #31Nightmares. While I placed the end drafts into my folders I worked on this multi-purpose template for future prints. It was fully inspired by the recent autumnal equinox and some of our feathered friends in the skies migrating to warmer regions.
During the week while handling the hustle and stumble that can be the life cycle, I got to visit a place where none of that mattered. It brought me back through a feeling I haven’t had since I was a teenager and had me dreaming of faraway places over the weekend. This is one of the scenes inspired by those dream designs. It all got me thinking that no matter what horrible things may occur in our lives we are strong. No matter what hardships we may endure we can still create whole other worlds through our creations. Those creations then go on to create better worlds. & That’s a beautiful thing.
Since posting something small with minimal text has become somewhat of my Sunday ritual here, I’ve dreamt up a name for it. From now on I’ll be titling these posts “Sleepy Sunday” and tagging it as such. The same exceptions apply here that are already in effect for my “Daily Daydreams“.
There will be short, “dreamy”, artwork, photography, or possibly even poetry-driven post every Sunday unless:
I’m under the weather.
I have some family or work-related obligation.
Some natural disaster has knocked the power out.
A zombie apocalypse happens.
With that out of the way, here is my little doodle for today. It’s very girly, but I think both male and female could appreciate it. 😀
(My son helped me choose the colors. He’s the greatest.)
