We will certainly update you about all that & the reasons why soon.
First though, we’ve got more pressing matters at hand. Our business & website are going through yet another complete overhaul. While all things are being shuffled around & new security measures begin to take hold, I will be redesigning the place from top to bottom & fixing some of the formatting issues with text that occur when switching views from desktop to mobile devices.
We are going for a cleaner look with less of a cluttery mess in our sidebar area.
Some important points to mention
We will be updating our Terms due to incidents that occurred over the break
There will be cross-platform changes & updates (Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube)
Art Services are temporarily suspended until April. (We are booked solid & consulting new clients.)
Sleepy Sundays has come to an end. (For now, until further notice. We are planning something new.)
We are currently searching for a social media manager. Contact us for more info.
Snapping Turtle is interested in branching out even further. (More details on this coming up.)
We’ve missed you tremendously. Thank you for being patient & supporting us while we had a lot going on.
We ask for a little more of that patience while we get things back in order here & sweep out all the dust creatures that creeped up inside our little castle in the clouds while we were away.
We are turning a new corner here at CardCastles and would like you to join us.
Plans are in the works for quite a few changes in the upcoming months. We will no longer be doing our regular #SleepySundays posts for the remainder or the year.
We are also unsure if we will be resurrecting #31Nightmares for this upcoming October. This will depend largely on community demand.
These pauses are for good reason. We are working on something much bigger as a team here at home for the future of our business, Snapping Turtle, that has been playing a larger role here these past few years.
I am also individually working on three book-related projects the rest of this summer, and likely into the fall.
We will certainly miss the old traditions for a while, but times, they are a-changin’ —and with it, so are we.
Updates will come as these changes go into effect. We thank you for your continued support. Keep an eye on our social media accounts for news about upcoming diaries and anything else as we near the end of this summer.
–This Sunday we’re going to do something a little different.
As much as I would’ve liked to share some new artwork with you this weekend, my ongoing health issues have been acting up the last few days & it’s left me with a series of nasty migraines that have been hindering my ability to concentrate.
I don’t want any of you to worry. I’m getting the best possible care I can get and have been showing some signs of improvement lately.
So with all that said & out of the way,
I’d simply like to recap/re-share my last 2 posts on here within our little Sleepy Sundays timeframe.
Alright friends & friendly strangers, we’ve got some great news!! We were able to save our business & website just in time! You know what that means, don’t you?? #SleepySundays resumes this Sunday & I’m taking requests for my services starting right now! Back to work!
The following image was first shared in 2013 as part of my Winter Gallery: Part II posting. What wasn’t shared was the interesting story behind it…
I used to live much further from where I currently reside. I’ve bounced around the state of New Jersey throughout my life. In 1995-1996 my grandmother was going through a very messy divorce and she started hinting that we were going to move. Right around that time I started having this recurring dream about this small patch of woods I had never seen before in my waking life or in my dreams. The dreams intrigued me due to their vivid nature.
What I couldn’t shake during this time was the sense that this place existed somewhere in real life. I don’t know how I knew it—I just did.
About a year later, my grandmother found a condo in a quiet little area and informed me this is where we’d be moving. The day we set out to plant our roots in this new home, I was instantly shocked as we neared the entrance. Just around the corner from where we were about to live was the little patch of woods I had seen in my dreams. The place had a foreboding energy about it. The best way I could describe it was “an otherworldly feel” in my eyes. The moment of realization sent chills right through me. I had strange instances of what some would refer to as psychic vision before, but nothing like this. I was rattled to the core.
We moved there anyway and I would up living in that home until 2012. Fun fact? The place was haunted too. Extremely. Like Poltergeist-level haunted.
This image was taken years after I moved in. The area is still untouched to this day. I edited the colors a bit because this was originally going to be used for a book cover of my own. That book later got scrapped after my laptop died and 8 chapters of the novel were not able to be recovered. Soon after, I gave up writing.
