Sleepy Sundays: Recap

Hello, my darlings,

–This Sunday we’re going to do something a little different.

As much as I would’ve liked to share some new artwork with you this weekend, my ongoing health issues have been acting up the last few days & it’s left me with a series of nasty migraines that have been hindering my ability to concentrate.

I don’t want any of you to worry. I’m getting the best possible care I can get and have been showing some signs of improvement lately.

So with all that said & out of the way,

I’d simply like to recap/re-share my last 2 posts on here within our little Sleepy Sundays timeframe.

Have a pleasant Sunday night

Happy Holidays from CardCastles

As you may already know,

We are currently undergoing maintenance, making some more changes to the site, and have a lot going on behind the curtain.

We will be away for a while during the holidays and will miss you all terribly, so we are leaving you this greeting as a parting gift.

While CardCastles will remain down until around the first week of January, we will still be maintaining our art services during downtime. We have some sales going on you can find out about through our social media pages and through our CONTACT page here on site.

Any questions can be sent to Snapping Turtle through our contact page here or by calling us directly. Greeting card prints will be available all throughout the holiday season.

Sleepy Sundays: Halls and Walls

[ Click images to view larger versions ]

This weekend I flashed back to a conversation had with my sister a few weeks back about our mother and how even though we have different fathers, we still have so many of the same personality traits, and quirks because of our mother.

Our mother was a fashion lover. After that conversation, the whole week things about her kept popping up in my dreams. These wall design concepts were inspired by her.

What memories seem to recur in your dreams?

Have a dreamy Sunday!

Sleepy Sundays: An Escape

An Escape

I’ll keep this one short and sweet since I know a lot of you are celebrating spring breaks and holiday weekends. This is simply a little something soothing for your Sunday.

Are you on a spring vacation? I sure hope so. Let us all escape the madness. 🙂

Have a peaceful Sunday!

Moments of Silence

It must have been love, but it’s over now.” – Roxette

Sometimes an overflowing of hate can make a person like me shut completely down. The shards from words that cut can fly through the room. When you’re not looking, sometimes those airborne pieces of glass can pierce straight into the heart.

You may notice it got quiet. You may not.

The Burning Bridge
The Burning Bridge

What happens when even the people who fight for good are tired and weary?

This is no terror ground, or place for the rage.” – A Strange Kind of Love by Peter Murphy

My recent break from social media left a few of my friends questioning if I was alright. (Don’t worry, I’ll be back by Friday morning. I know a few days in *internet time* adds to about a year or something in reality.) I had to unplug for my sanity.

With all of the racial tensions, gun debates, political arguing, and just good ol’ fashioned hate going on, my brain simply shut down. I’ve been through this before.

Example 1: In the Cold Light of Day

Example 2: Not Tomorrow

(Not forgetting the countless other incidents before those.)

I’m tired.

I’m weary.

I’m sick of people being ugly to each other.

Perhaps when I return, I’ll be refreshed. Or perhaps, this will summon someone.

Some—

thing.
