31 Nightmares 2018: The 2nd

Obscure Horror

Last year, there were a few sleeper mentions I later got questions about. At least once during our madness here we like to mention something most people may not have heard of.

One of my favorites out of those is indeed The Watcher in the Woods.
This is an old one but it is so worth digging for if you can find it. The story is surrealistic almost to a point of science fiction if it weren’t for the heavy horror undertones.

There is no blood or gore in this movie. Every element of horror is purely psychological, and done very well, might I add. Bette Davis is a sort of surprise character and she is fantastic.

Everything about this story sets the tone for all of the atmospheric visuals you’ll see throughout.

If you can unearth this movie somehow (as it can be extremely hard to find) I highly recommend watching this version.

Sleepy Sundays: Seaside

Seaside

During the week while handling the hustle and stumble that can be the life cycle, I got to visit a place where none of that mattered. It brought me back through a feeling I haven’t had since I was a teenager and had me dreaming of faraway places over the weekend. This is one of the scenes inspired by those dream designs. It all got me thinking that no matter what horrible things may occur in our lives we are strong. No matter what hardships we may endure we can still create whole other worlds through our creations. Those creations then go on to create better worlds. & That’s a beautiful thing.

What beautiful things have inspired you lately?

Have a far out Sunday!

Sleepy Sundays: Flood Lights

Flood Lights

During my vacation time I’ve been jumping back and forth between visiting relatives and going back to my designs. I was inspired by some of the sci-fi and summer music projects I’ve been toying with and came up with this one in the meantime.

This tile pattern I got sorted out reminds me of summer nights far from cities with tons of stars visible in the night sky. Even though this is in my surreal/fantasy category, it is born from some place very real.

Have you been to any little hideaways this season?

Have a peaceful Sunday!

Sneak Peeks

Working on Alicia while juggling my everyday life and work has been a blast. Getting to bring these tiny worlds to life for you has been like therapy. Look forward to the reveal of more characters coming up later this month. You will get to meet the adorable cast of characters and get to know them during my Character Profiles. Pretty soon we will be honing in on an official release date for the first episode. All of the sound, art, and animation are starting to flow together and the project is nearing completion.

Thank you for showing such love and excitement for this!

Love,

Sleepy Sundays: Harvesting

Harvesting
Harvesting

We harvest a storm of emotion during the fall just as nature does the same. It’s about the change over to new pathways and new beginnings as we enter a new season.

Our family happened upon a very intriguing little area this weekend. I was so taken by the scenery, sparks started flying as to how I was going to work these into my designs.

This tiny stretch of cornfield was just uphill to a roadside and being this is the harvesting time of year, I chose that title for my works.
The area had such atmosphere to it. The tiny, thin rows created the most gorgeous, rusty-colored skyline of sorts.

What do you harvest in the fall? It is love? Family? Creativity? Do tell.
