Sleepy Sundays: Equinox

Equinox
Equinox

After a steamy, oppressively humid night here on this side of the globe, it got me thinking about how close fall is. There will be many adventures to get into in October. I’m meeting some long-time gaming friends at NYCC this year and I have to admit, I’m excited. This will be my first time attending NY Comic Con. So, I sure hope the weather makes a comfortable shift into fall.

When I wish for this season like this, my paintbrush, pencil, or hand seems to become enchanted with some child-like wonder I used to experience long ago. This piece even reminds me of some of my much, much older work. It’s nice to take a trip down memory lane once in a while and visit your long-buried roots. Much like fall, sometimes a piece of us can tend to slumber with age and life happenings. Though like the seasons change, it will be awakened again. You just have to give it a little light and love.

Have you ever started something back up you haven’t practiced in ages?

Have a seasonal Sunday!

    1. I’ve always had some sense that if day & night were entities, that they would be lovers. Strange right? But it’s inspired so much of my older artwork when I was much younger. I would love to show you guys one of my old sketchbooks someday. Most likely whenever I move from this place I’m in now.

Comic Con is something that started a little while back for all lovers of comics as sort of a huge convention. Then, it picked up speed and started featuring many facets of entertainment from movies to tv, it’s pretty wonderful. I’m looking forward to it, and even better I get to meet up with some old friends while doing it. ❤

  1. Hi DD! I’ve been missing you (totally my fault, I know). I love your artwork this week. It definitely excites me for fall. It’s my favorite time of year. I’m hoping to get out on the motorcycle this year with the camera and get some good pictures.

I’m happy for you that you’re going to Comic Con and meeting friends. I know you’ll have a great time. 🙂

    1. Not your fault at all my dear. I have a half-written email that has taken me a LONG time to send to you. I still have to finish & send it. I’ve been a horrible friend to everyone this year.

I’m trying to rebuild what was lost when I had to part ways with Twenty20. That & life keeps happening over & over. (We’re trying to finally move out.) Sigh. Hopefully, it all changes with the season.

      I’ve missed you so much. 😀 ❤

  2. I’ve been drawing with a lot of sidewalk chalk recently… not of my own volition, though. Does that still count?
I’m very excited to be feeling the first hints of fall. It’s still going to be hot today, but at least the nights are starting to cool off.

    1. Aww. Any sidewalk chalk art time is great, no matter the reason.

That’s exactly how it’s been here but for some reason, we had a few humid nights that took away that relaxing cool breeze.

I hope it transitions soon. I’m over summer. Ready to get into the fall mindset.
