It’s been quite a while, that’s for certain. With the holiday season in full swing, I’ve been a busy bee. Shopping can have a way of draining me. Especially around this time of year. Now I know what a drunken old lady must feel like. It’s been that tiring. Organizing my son’s holiday festivities, preparing with family, cooking a TON, decorating, decorating, & more decorating. Oh yeah, and did I mention..decorating? The running around(excuse the following overused phrase) like a chicken with its head cut off is starting to wear me down. Despite all this, I still love it all. Joy fills me when this time of year rolls around. Even if it starts off with some anxiety/depression.
I’m hoping all of your Thanksgivings went well, to those that celebrate it. Ours was surprisingly pleasant this year. With no family drama..(wahoo!)
Having now mentioned all of that lovely, chaotic cheer..I’d like to switch gears for a moment, if I may.
It’s important to bring up the fact that people in my area are still suffering. By now, all of you know about Sandy and the catastrophic damage it caused. These hard-working citizens, same as you or I, keep popping on my mind lately. I cannot imagine what they must be going through. Truth be told, the storm effected myself and my loved ones, also..but we didn’t lose our homes. Some people in my state have. They are in desperate need. I just wish them a little peace, is all. No matter how wonderful or saddening things might get for us..always try to remember those less fortunate.
I’d like to take the time out to thank all of you for being loyal readers. Even when I’m not posting as regularly due to family time or holiday madness. 😉 You have all made 2012 an amazing year for me in your own ways. I wish you all a very happy, healthy holiday season.
